Vaccinations protect us against serious infectious diseases that can be accompanied by complications or against diseases for which there are still no proper treatments. Modern vaccines are well tolerated and only lead to undesired side effects in rare cases. In Germany, the Standing Vaccination Commission (STIKO) publishes vaccination recommendations that are updated annually.
